Two countries that I respect:Cuba = Baseball Genius (population 11,000,000)
How are these guys so good at baseball? They only have less than 1/4 the population of Korea and 1/28 the population of the U.S. However, they've won every gold medal in Olympic baseball except for 1 win by the U.S. and 1 this year by Korea. They are amazing.
I don't even want to mention Cuba's economy. No money and a small population = baseball dominance? Unbelievable.
Lithuania = Basketball Wizards (population 3,600,000)
This country reached the semifinals in every Olympics since their independence. It's population is 1/80 the size of the U.S. and 1/13 the size of Korea. How do they find so many great basketball players from less than 4 million people?
Their economy is only 15% bigger than Cuba, which is nothing. No money and a handful of people = basketball dominance? How do they do it?
London is going to have a tough time trying to match Beijing. China spent over $40 billion. lol
Anyone that thinks China's GDP will be bigger than the U.S. is dreaming. The U.S. nominal GDP is $13.8 trillion. China's is $3.2 trillion. If China grows at 10% for the next 15 years, they might be able to equal the 2008 U.S. economy. However, it will be 2023 and the U.S. economy grows at around 3% a year. So, in 15 years, the U.S. GDP should be over $20 trillion. Can China continue growing at 10% a year for the next 15 years? I don't think so. They will probably overtake Japan ($4.3 trillion) as the number 2 economy in the world because the Japanese have no idea how to manage an economy. (Dear Korea, please don't try to imitate economic policies from Japan.)
A lot of Koreans and foreigners criticized MBC, SBS, and KBS's coverage of the 2008 Olympics.
Here are some letters to The Korea Times:

I totally agree with the people above. At first I was happy watching many games even at night, but soon I found out they just replayed the same game that Korea was involved. It was absolutely boring to see the same games over and over again!
ME TOO._.!!Even during the games, they just cut and show other programs if Korea is not involved. I wanted to see the final match of kayak but they didn't show:(
